Graduate Recruitment

If you're in your final year at university and interested in a challenging engineering career, which offers development and diversity - you've just found it.

Each year, we accept 30 graduates who have achieved a minimum 2:2 degree onto our 4-year accredited graduate training scheme. The scheme is designed to fast track you to Chartership with an appropriate institute and offers an amazing opportunity to thoroughly develop your knowledge and translate theory into practice. It also includes a starting salary of £20,750, a welcome bonus of £1000 and the option of a £4000 interest free loan.

The disciplines we recruit include:

For all engineering roles, you'll gain exposure over the first 2 years in various areas of our business. This will include production management, facilities, engineering, project management, commercial management, health and safety, quality and design. Not only will this ensure that you get to see the complete spectrum of what we do, it will also enable you to discover where your strengths lie and which areas of our business are of particular interest to you. Accredited by all major engineering institutions, this scheme will also help you to achieve chartered status.

After the first 2 years on the training scheme, you'll spend the following 2 years in your chosen area of the business. During this time you'll be given additional responsibility and become involved in the whole life-cycle of projects. For example, you could be involved with submitting a tender to the Ministry of Defence for the refit of a nuclear submarine; followed by involvement in planning a particular aspect of the project including overseeing the teams responsible for the removal of associated materials and equipment from the submarine and their interface with other teams; and finally, overseeing the installation and testing of any new or refurbished equipment before handing back to the client.

The rewarding aspect of this is that you are able to see a project through from conception to completion. It gives you the opportunity to take ownership of its success and demonstrate your problem solving skills, lateral thinking and management abilities, aided of course, by the support and guidance of your managers.

By the end of this 4 year period, you'll have gained the experience and competencies required to gain chartered status of your relevant institute and move on to the Experienced Graduate Scheme.

What's more, if you choose to join our other graduates, you'll be based in cosmopolitan Plymouth, with its beautiful scenery, outstanding city and vibrant nightlife. The perfect base for you to achieve professional success.
